Weekend Trips Near Bangalore with a Travel Companion

Bangalore is lucky. Some really nice places are just a few hours away, and a weekend trip is even better with good company. Here are a few worth thinking about.

Coorg is the classic choice. Green hills, coffee estates and cool weather, about five hours out. It is calm, pretty and perfect for slowing down for a couple of days.

Closer in, Nandi Hills is great for an early morning drive and a sunrise. You can be there and back in a day. Chikmagalur is another hill option if you want a little more time away.

If you prefer the coast, a longer drive gets you to the beaches around Gokarna. Quieter than Goa, and lovely for a slow weekend.

A travel companion makes these trips easy. Pack light, keep the plan flexible, and pick someone who actually enjoys the road. Sort out the days, the place and the details in advance, and just enjoy the break.
